Hello,

I stopped paying attention to Mr Daschle the day he became a "secret" lobbyist. His dishonesty shows that he has no credibility. I thought he was one of the decent politicians. He is not! Won't be listening.

Thanks Diane

I just love these old has-been's, reminiscing when the Congress "used to work together". Nevermind their "compromises" resulted in $17 trillion in federal debt and totally unsustainable programs.

Here is the facts about compromise, half a bad idea is still a bad idea. There can no longer be compromise with a party that is marching headlong into bankruptcy , the democrat party.

ah, another crony capitalist/ex-senator, shamelessly promoting the false left-right paradigm, ie...the dual-monopoly of the so called right vs. left bureaucrats....
Congress 3% approval rating.
Hey, Tom...nobody cares about your stupid book!

Congress is no different than the Senate in the old Roman Empire, and they will make us suffer the same fate. Every congressman is precluded from seeing past the pestilence of their own flatulence. They only continue to restate the same old talking points hoping to convince themselves that they are worth their salaries. They talk so much about entitlements; I say: cut their salaries in half and tie their pay to performance.

I would like to suggest a constitutional amendment that states that at the time of redistricting, all congressional seats must be drawn with the overriding goal to maximize the number of competitive seats within each state. The means of achieving this would be left to the states, but the outcomes would have to conform to the goal.

I believe this would, over time, help to resolve the current preoccupation of every Congressperson with guarding against a potential primary challenge from the more radical wings of their respective parties, thus moderating our political landscape for the future.

Some of the comments here are perfect examples of the dogmatic certainty that is at the root of the problem -- the I am right -- and just say NO -- and STAND your Ground. Look at the last election - the Majority want compromise and many care less about the so-called debt and bankruptcy fears that Rebublicans say they are representing. Fanning these flames shows real ignorance about economics. Compromise will bring certainty and growth in the economy. Even after the election, Republicans like Mitch MC. are still purposefully trying to make the economy fail. Drives me crazy when people keep saying that it's the President's job to cross the aisle...He is the PRESIDENT! They need to go to him!!!!! That would be true even
if he was a Republican.

Tom Daschle is another elite from the political class. ALL those guys profit and part-take in the fleecing of America.

"automatic weapons", all those years in the Senate and this idiot still does not know the difference between a machine gun and a semi automatic rifle. Automatic Weapons ARE outlawed and not available to the general public.

This guy is a left wing lunatic, all good intentions and very little in the way unbiased pragmatic reasoning.

I'd bet the farm all the negitive comments are from folks in RED STATES following their Pied Piper.

That was an annoying interview. He lied so much. My blood pressure is so high right now. It is frightening who gets the microphone these days. (but excuse me, I am written off as a right wing kook anymore even though I never listen to right wing anything and only listen to NPR) Maybe I should listen to right wing news sources, then I wouldn't get so angry.

Hasn't this guy been completely discredited. He failed to report and pay income taxes.

His wife is a long-time lobbyist.

He's now a lobbyist.
