By what you wrote you are not a republican, certainly not conservative. If what you write is true, what you are experiencing is the fact that you are a liberal democrat that has come home.

Majority of illegal aliens are of Hispanic origin coming across the border. Nearly 80% are from Mexico or South America. Sorry, that's not a racist statement, thats a fact.
The majority of Hispanics are poor and vote for Democrats because Democrats promise them the most stuff, not because of the immigration issue. That is also a fact. According to Gallup, only 12% of registered Hispanic voters rank immigration as most important, nearly dead last, behind Healthcare, Unemployment, Economic Growth, and the declining middle class.
If Republican leadership thinks they will win the hearts of illegals by giving them citizenship, they are wrong. They are, in fact, creating 11M new voters who will vote for Democrats until Republicans can convince them that they will prosper more under Conservative policiies of economic opportunity and economic growth than Liberal/Progressive handouts.

End NAFTA until Mexico creates a decent minimum wage for their own. End the attraction that lures people here. The addiction by corporations for cheap labor must be stopped.This cancer hurts people on both sides of the border.

(I found it technically impossible to comment during your show today.)

What is so funny about the comments these days is that people accuse the Diane Rehm show of being liberal. (Very little of consequence follows such an accusation.)

If you have guests like Mark Krikorian and Phyllis Schlafly, one thing you cannot be realistically accused of is being liberal.

I will try to continue listening to your show, but I have no time to waste on what comes from the mouths of people like this.

INTELLECTUAL HONESTY NEEDED IN US's ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION DEBATES!!

Since persons from hispanic countries have violated US immigration laws en-masse for decades- entering and residing in the country without following due process of law AND while the US has had in place explicitly delineated annual 'immigration quotas' (limits) for these persons' countries of origin- the US should:

1) reduce the annual immigration quotas (numbers of immigrants/persons accepted) from ALL hispanic countries to zero for at least 25-years;

2) Publicly and openly communicate the above to leaders of hispanic countries and their citizenry- from Mexico south to Antarctica- using standard diplomatic protocols as well as mass media advertisements;

3) Proportionally raise the annual immigration quotas (numbers of persons accepted) from non-hispanic countries, IE: European, Asian, African, etc in order to compensate for reductions in numbers of accepted-immigrants from hispanic countries....

And, recognizing the egregious financial, economic and political costs of deporting current illegal hispanic residents, the US should:

4) immediately grant legalized-residency to all hispanic illegal residents/immigrants who are currently residing in the US....

Dan if may I say so you have a knack for.. missing the point. My comment was not intended for you to decipher where in the political spectrum I stand. But thank you for your (gratuitous) opinion.
