Republican Governor Chris Christie strikes me as one of those republicans that will eventually switch parties or go independent. Clearly this was some kind of stunt to endear himself to his liberal electorate in New Jersey for his 2013 reelection hopes. If things don't go well for Romney next Tuesday, expect to see some major damage control from the Governor. I don't recall this kind of suspect outreach from a sitting opposition party Governor or something similar this close to an election. The Governor now wears a permanent cloak of suspicion that probably started with his eyebrow raising speech at the republican national convention.
Romney Ryan Thanksgiving Menu
Environment
Given extreme weather this country and the world are experiencing, the Governor's energy policy of pushing oil, coal and gas on our mainland and offshore, gives us a heated, stormy gathering.
Apples and Oranges
Romney says 23 million struggling for work. That's NOT the number unemployed, 12.1 million (7.8%) . Bush, according to BLS, had 11.6 million unemployed (7.6%).. Romney insists on saying 23million, but doesn't mention the analogous 22.4 million (.076/.078x23 million) Bush number. The Governor wil serve up apples and oranges but don't ask him which is which.
Lots of Lower Calories
Romney said people lost, on average, over $4,000. The Census Bureau median incomes in 2009 dollars: 2011 ($50,054), 2009 ($49,777), 2008 ($52,029). Where is the $4,000 decrease for the typical family? With the Governor's counting, your decrease in calories approaches weight watchers.
No hot potatoes
The Governor avoids revealing his tax returns, Cayman Island contacts, jobs his company sent overseas, Roe v Wade and bosses deciding if women employees can get contraception, his stewardship of Massachusetts (healthcare, teacher firings, and questionable regulation of specialty pharmacies).
Stuffing
Lots of stuffing. There's all that stuff about the sky falling on Social Security (not true as long as Wall Street's fingers are kept off), seniors losing $716billion in benefits (not a penny lost to seniors), 12million new jobs (mediocre, given the time span used), fewer Navy ships (enough said here).
The Fowl (don't tell the children)
Yes, Big Bird. The good Governor will serve him on a platter. Nice guy.
Bill
It's bigger than the monthly payment for the roof over your head or your health insurance under Romney's plan. But strange, every time you try to add up the bill, you wind up with a different number, but all the numbers are bigger than the price tag you were sold.
America's Menu for Thanksgiving?
Why is Mitt Romney not called to task for the blatant lies he has told throughout this campaign. The most recent was his deceitful Jeep comments last Thursday, amplified by a television and radio campaign, which we all know where in accurate. But his propensity to prevaricate has taken place throughout, as evidenced by his "Obama wants to establish a religion called secularism.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCg-d7yRokg
To tell such a falsehood about religion, knowing it is a powder keg in this country, was reprehensible.
If Romney believed it would boost his campaign, he would certainly air the following message:
"I'm the biggest flippety-flopper that ever ran for public office.
I'm MR and I approved this message".
If he did, maybe it would help reestablish some credibility.
Too bad Christie's so popular!
I'm not a fan, but it was evident that Christie was concerned with rescuing New Jersey, not politics.
But since Christie expressed gratitude to Obama, "partisan politics" wants us to believe Christie had a political motive.
Lame.
How great would it be if Congress would act like these two. I am not a fan of the Gov. But he put the people before Politics And gave credit where credit was due. May hat is off to him and the Pres..
"wants us to believe" I don't want you to believe anything, I'm just telling you the way it is.
It's all about the photo opportunity suckers. The president can't do anything at the scene of the damage that he could not have done from Las Vegas and that ain't much. It's all politics, I suspect those desperate for the president to gain some traction can pretend in the last days of the campaign that this helps him look competent. Good thing for the supporters of Obama the accomplice media has successfully shut down the Benghazi terrorist attack investigation.
I often ask myself if my political party of choice was unfairly given biased favorable treatment by the main stream media would I like it. The answer for me is a resounding NO, this can only hurt the country in the long run by taking everything down with it. As far as I can tell liberals don't care how they win, they act the loser all the time even though they always win. The last time this country had a real republican was Ronald Reagan, it's been a downward slide since.

change in an even more urgent way."

Give to Occupy Sandy, the Red Cross not so much.

"New Jersey voters say Christie, a Republican, deserves re-election by a 52 percent to 40 percent margin. In a head-to-head matchup with Booker, a Democrat, Christie leads 46 percent to 42 percent"

If pp does not live in Jersey why would he care?
pp cares not for "the victims" since they "should have planned better."
pp may be in the 47% himself.
(Did your check deposit today, buddy?)
Chris Christie has entered the popular culture lexicon like Big Bird.
Republicans strike me as a party that will eventually fragment into Populists, Theocrats and Nazis.
It will be interesting to see if this is addressed:

If not this hour then certainly next, one would hope.
De oppresso liber.
Nonunion Alabama crews turned away from Sandy recovery.
SFV- I heard information that the leader of the attacking brigade was a CIA asset having lived in Falls Church the previous 10 years. Curiouser and curiouser. (I thought SF guys followed orders without question.)
Mr. partisan politics, too bad about Gov. Christie. At least you are honest about your name. I don't agree with most of Chris Christie's politics, but he has two things that Romney lacks - honesty and the ability to put connect with real people.
Romney is a narcissistic egoist who has only one interest - the political power to serve the interests of himself and his economic peers. His desperate last minute lies about the auto industry and his transparent photo-ops pretending to help storm relief efforts expose him for the fraud that he is.

It might be helpful to put a teaser (copy and paste) with your link like this.
"CBS News has learned that during the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. Mission in Benghazi, the Obama Administration did not convene its top interagency counterterrorism resource: the Counterterrorism Security Group, (CSG).
"The CSG is the one group that's supposed to know what resources every agency has. They know of multiple options and have the ability to coordinate counterterrorism assets across all the agencies," a high-ranking government official told CBS News. "They were not allowed to do their job. They were not called upon."

@ mancuroc
No truer words can be said regarding Mitt Romney
Linda R.- Should we be shocked or electrocuted by incompetence (when scabs are rejected). Maybe they could help on the NC coast (Right to Work-Fire at Will State) or maybe go unplug voting machines in Wisconsin.

I agree. I don't think Christie was showing his liberal undershorts. He's playing the President in case Obama is re-elected. It's the smart thing to do for the citizens of his state.

Utter BS.
Sorry AGW does not explain the SIX major storms that tore up the east cost in 1954, 1955, nor the same in the 30's. Cyclical weather patterns caused by the warming and cooling of the Atlantic/Pacfic do.
partisan politic's knickers are in quite a twist. His candidate is going to lose on Tuesday, his party is full of politicians who - in his own words - aren't even "real republicans", and the last one of that species to roam this land, according to PP was RR, who left office 24 years ago. Ronald Reagan raised taxes, withdrew troops from Lebanon after a tragic terrorist attack on them, and granted literal amnesty to millions of undocumented immigrants. Based on his record, Ronald Reagan would have to pull a severe Mitt Romney to get the nomination of today's GOP.
Consider the NYC Marathon a disaster drill.
Next Superstorm run like Hell.

If he had been in Las Vegas you would be on here complaining that he was not in New Jersey/New York helping the victims of Sandy. Can't have it both ways.
I would like an answer on why, Fox News has focused solely on the Benghazi issue and not on the success of stopping the lone wolf terrorist on American soil that planned on blowing up the Federal Reserve and even talked about assassination of the President. Is it because that is what the conservatives really want? It seems the evidence is clear it is.
How dare one of your guests say that he feels the American public does not truly understand the destruction or what New Yorkers are going though. Speaking from Houston Texas, we KNOW fully well and are there for you. We know what they are going through! Can he even remember Hurricane Ike? The south is always shortchanged by the press.
to Pancake Rankin, by your sneering tone I'd imagine that you'd want the voting machines in Wisc. to electrocute people. Why do you assume that non-union workers are unable to perform a job?
mobed_ Romney inherited RR's coal mordant hair dye.
(I'd hate to launder those pillow slips.)
Sununu complicated....please. John Sununu is a racist and it is shameful he is Romney's co-chair. The pattern of his comments during this election is nothing short of shameful.
Romney had momentum coming into this week....after the whopper he told about Jeep last Thursday night and his sham "relief" campaign event.
ROFL! So some people are upset because Christie cozied-up to Obama. ROFL! What some people don't understand about politicians would fill the largest book ever printed.
So now some consider Christie a turncoat. ROFL!
No! He's a POLITICIAN! Politicians do these sorts of things! ROFL!
In a month, or less, Christie will be far-right again.
And, no doubt, denying that he ever cozied-up to Obama!
ROFL!
With the massive electrical outages in New York and New Jersey how will accomodations be made for voting locales on election day?
