Where are the stats saying that women offenders are more vigorously prosecuted and receive greater sentences than men? What's your sources?
And perhaps the reason many fathers are absent has to do with the way so many mothers play their children as pawns in divorce court?
I happened to be driving on a gorgeous spring day, so at first I was going to switch stations, since the subject was so depressing. But once I started hearing what happened, I thought I owed it to the girl to hear her story.
Horrific on many levels. Incomprehensible how a man could do that, and that a mother would cover it up.
Neglect and abuse of children are rampant all accross the U.S. The system fails every day. Most abuse and neglect goes on without consequences and infanticide is more common that we think, however not identified as such. The worst part of this story is that it is just the tip of the iceberg. Child protective services seldom do a good job. Prosecutors do not want to prosecute. The US is the most violent country for children. Go and google it!
I would really, really LOVE to know your data to support your claim that family court favor mothers. Having spent over a decade being dragged and abused through the family courts by an abusive man, I would really, really LOVE to know your data source. Please provide same immediately.
I was saddened and angry listening to this story. The child protection services need to be unbiased and open to all complaints of abuse and neglect. Err on the side of keeping the child safe, not protecting the ego of adults. Any adult who truly cares about the child's welfare would welcome an investigation to get to the truth.
Years ago a neighbor child was locked out of her home after school until 6 or 7 PM , even in winter when it was dark. Another neighbor and I let her in to use the bathroom, phone to try to get a parent to come home and let her in her own house and fed her. Her younger half- siblings, toddlers, were out during the day, climbing a ladder left against the house numerous times. The other neighbor saw this and reported it. She was treated like a busybody neighbor and was reluctant to report again though we both did multiple times. Eventually it came out the older child was drinking alcohol at the school bus stop, being abused by her stepfather and the younger ones were locked out while mom slept off drugs. Dad was eventually arrested for drug trafficking. Yet my neighbor was the bad guy for reporting what she saw.
