David Corn is the first impolite and rude guest that I have ever heard on the DR show!
More guests like him and I will not listen.
This if my first comment to the DR Show!

"Teacher tells eighth grade class to dig up dirt on GOP field"

http://now.msn.com/now/0322-opposition-research-on-obama.aspx

This teacher is way to influenced by NPR, MSNBC, Media Matters, DailyKos, etc.

Republican-leaning guests get an e-mail memo every day or so telling them what to say and how to say it.
It is not in the nature of a Republican to disobey. In fact, obedience is a principal characteristic of being Republican.
So the Republican-leaning guests will continue to use the term "Obamacare" for as long as their leaders tell them to use it.

March 23, 2012 - 10:37 am

Diane, I am a liberal, so I have no problem with David Corn's politics (I tend to agree with most of what he says) but please, PLEASE stop having him on your show. He is extremely obnoxious. He treats your fellow guests rudely, and with disdain. He goes on long winded diatribes and then constantly interrupts other guests if they say anything he disagrees with. He comes across as the same kind of rude and obnoxious bully as those horrendous folks like Rush and Glenn Beck - the same kind of people that make your show such a welcome respite from the shouting and bullying you find on talk shows that are not on NPR. Please, there are many other wonderful liberal voices that I'm sure can behave better and not drag down the quality of your show in the manner that David Corn does every time he appears as a guest on your Friday news round up. For the sake of your show's wonderful quality of civil and respectful discussion, just stop having him as a guest.

March 23, 2012 - 10:37 am

David Corn behaves as if he were a FOX News commentator.

March 23, 2012 - 10:39 am

David Corn is right to push back on the underselling of the effects of the Ryan budget. But what many folks fail to realize, including Jennifer Rubin here, is that many, many seniors are in nursing homes covered by Medicaid. Where will these people, who receive labor intensive custodial care, go when Medicaid is cut by one-fifth? There are a diverse group of folks in this country who receive Medicaid, including are most vulnerable members, whether they are infants or our elders.

March 23, 2012 - 10:40 am

Thank You David Corn. Do NOT let these right wing radicals walk all over you,and spread their lies. The truth will prevail,if we allow it to be told.

Hey marcus
I knew i smelled a hack in the room!! The apple DOES NOT fall far from the murrdock tree!! MR. fair and balance.

March 23, 2012 - 10:42 am

That's like saying that McDonald's serves better beef than Morton's because McDonald's has more customers.

March 23, 2012 - 10:43 am

Didn't Travon Martin have the right to 'stand his ground'?

March 23, 2012 - 10:46 am

We don't know if the 'stand your ground law' was a factor!?

It's not just the 'left' trying to make an issue, is was the reason given by the police for not arresting or even brining in the shooter.

Please.....

BLAMING A GOOD LAW

David Corn wasted no time blaming a good law that enables people to protect themselves and which, according to it's author, may already have prevented much violence. In fact given the presently suspect behavior of the relevant local police department, it is a law such as this one that may allow that local community to protect itself from the police.

Justice shall investigate this matter and rightly so. Media reports are questionable as to matters of fact, some reports being correct and others not so. To appearances a vigilante acted out way beyond the bounds of the law and ultimately murdered a young man for no good reason. It is right that there is so much outrage at this vigilante and at the local police; but, it is not right to blame a good law, and if the investigation by justice shows this storyline to be true, then it is difficult to imagination that the vigilante will not be prosecuted, perhaps even at cost to his own life.

My heart goes out to the family of Trayvon Martin. And my deep respect goes out to his family and to those, who so far have peacefully raised this matter to appropriate national attention. May the Good Lord protect them all from instigators on both sides of the racial divide, who would gladly provoke larger violence and tarnish the opportunity for good to come of this terrible thing.

No parent should have to bury their child, especially under such a circumstance. Their dignity is great, and I hope and pray that they will inspire our nation to an inspired positive transcendence of the racial and ethnic and religious divides that plague our nation.

Get this rude "blogger" off the show. You can state your opinion without being so rude.

It's good to hear that those 45 year olds and younger will never grow old. the issue is that when you are old the decisions are difficult.

These folks know darn well that using the term "Obamacare" is much more incendiary than the proper term!!!!

Ask them to use the correct term please

Wow. In almost 20 years of listening to the show, I do not think you've had a ruder person on the show than Jennifer Rubin. If I wanted to hear such rudeness and shoutinig over the rest of the panel I would listen to Fox News. I don't, which is why I listen to your show. Please advise her to step it down or better yet, find a guest who can discuss issue with some resprct of the other panelists and your audience.

Thanks

Well, FOX News does give liberals a platform everyday. So in that respect, you are correct.

March 23, 2012 - 10:55 am

David corn is right Insurance companies will do anything they can to increase profits at the expense of your health. That statement alone is enough reason to go to a government single payer plan. profit>greed>cutting corners>investors and corporate come first>patient last

March 23, 2012 - 10:55 am

hyberian. Just got through the Rehm show "Kathleen from Dayton Ohio" Asked the question about our seniors and health care coverage. Jennifer Rubin took the hooey about choice up another notch. Hell our seniors do not want all of this complicated health care plan choices. I am 60 of average intelligence and I can barely make it through the different policy choices. You feel like you need to be an attorney to understand the fine print, doughnut holes and what is and is not covered. Choice in the area of health care is way over rated.

March 23, 2012 - 10:55 am

in. re. "Texas Law in Sanford Florida" - this is nothing new. It just got coverage. This happens all the time 'at will' in Texas, i.e. free to kill or maim anyone 'mounted' on the spouse, on your horse, etc., etc.
This law is the main reason we have all those Texas Beauties. They know what they are dealing with in their menfolk. Therefore, all the rituals of beauty, dress, etc., all to please 'Big Daddy", they know their horse can be shot out from under them if they try to get away, as the horses are always held in 'Big Daddy's' name. It's a three ring circus in Texas, and they are extending their 'big ranches and ways' and blending them with the First Colonists, to set up a Regency on the East Coast, and all around the waterways. Aren't they special! Don't they smell sweet! Oh, and they take offense to Hoodies on anyone but themselves. And they must be white terry in Fla. Any other color is "ONE OF THEM.

March 23, 2012 - 10:57 am

It would be nice if Jennifer would let Jeanne and David express their opinions to the same extent she does. One of the things I always enjoy about the Friday news roundup is that it is less heated and very informative. Today's session sounded like a political debate rather than a roundup.

March 23, 2012 - 10:59 am

Jennifer Rubin is as bombastic and partisan on radio as she is in the WashPost. What a disappointment, Diane.

March 23, 2012 - 10:57 am

dcmorin1

While I understand your point about using "incendiary" terms, it not new and not all that effective. Please remember that the Dems labeled Reagan's SDI as "Star Wars" an derogatory term calling to mind imaginary unsustainable fantasy that will never work.

We need to move on from this and discuss the merits of the health care reform law not the name of it.

March 23, 2012 - 10:58 am

David is a veritable Emily Post compared to Jennifer Rubin.

Hey Diane
Great show as ALWAYS!! Keep up the good work and Thank you to ALL the people that make the show THE BEST ON RADIO BAR NONE!!!

March 23, 2012 - 10:59 am

Did you take time "Kathleen from Dayton" to listen to the answer? Elder Americans will not be affected at all! There is no decison to be made. You have beaten this point to death, with no understanding of what the issue even is.
