A real problem with the income disparity in the United States, which jeopardizes our future, is not that the rich are too rich – who cares – but that the rest of us are becoming too poor to educate our children.
Universities are fast becoming beyond the financial means of most Americans. The current trend is fewer and fewer people are able to afford college educations no matter how promising the students are. The result is and will continue to be reduced innovation and fewer scientific and technological breakthroughs – leading to economic stagnation...
It does not matter how rich the rich become as long as they are not getting rich at the expense of the rest of the people. Unfortunately, that is what is happening. The United States is becoming a nation of undereducated people because the most wealthy are becoming more wealthy by extracting too much wealth from the American economy.
BTW - Your's is truly the greatest show on earth.
Greatest liberal show on earth, just look at that panel. Three liberals (counting D.R.) and a rino.
Concerning the Martin/Zimmerman shooting, in the hyperthetical, if Martin was a year or two older, carrying a gun and he felt threatened by Zimmerman--a larger man (judging from pictures) who was following him and then started to demand to know why he was there--wouldn't the stand-your-ground law have allowed him to fire on Zimmerman? In that situation, Zimmerman feeling threatened by Martin and Martin feeling threatened by Zimmeran, could these two have stood on a residential street and traded rounds without EITHER ONE of them breaking the law?

Joe:
You ever stopped to think that somewhere around 500,000 college graduate are busing tables etc that had nothing to do with what they studied in college .
That above picture you see with the oil rigs in the background is labor intensive and you don't need a college degree just a strong back. Thousands of these jobs have been created by carbons. Those oil jobs start in the the middle 40k to 65K in North Dakota, going up to 6 digit income. Now I understand there are probably very few people that can do that type of work, but their are plenty of blue collar jobs that one can make a decent living.
Perhaps we need to be more realist in our career ambitions
When the day comes that the Sanford police decides to arrest Trayvon Martin's murderer about 3 months from now, I wonder if he'll be easy to find.
I am glad I don't live in Florida. I would not feel safe knowing that anyone (especially someone with friends in law enforcement) can get away with murder as long as there are no witnesses and the killer claims self defense.
Why is it that not one of the Republican candidates for President has shown the least bit of compassion to the family of Trayvon Martin in the month since his death? We had one candidate go to tremendous lengths regarding a joke told at a fundraiser (Robert De Niro), but four men, who claim they want to be president of all the people, can not demonstrate human concern on a story so prominent in the news.
@ Oct21
There are other choices available on the airwaves. Perhaps the fair and balanced "can we intercept your cell phone messages" network will provide you with the even-handed behavior you seek. (rolls eyes)

Obviously because their glad he's dead! or maybe like any sensible people they are waiting for the outcome of the investigation.
This topic has been discussed enough EVERYWHERE, maybe this show which is not much better than a gossip column should wait for the investigation to conclude.
@ Oct21
Can we stay on the topic or are your reading comprehension skills lacking. Let us go back to the original comment, why is it that four men, who claim to want to be president of ALL THE PEOPLE (does that help you) have failed to make any comments of compassion or support for a family that has suffered a devastating loss. In addition, did Mr. Lee say he was completely satisfied with the "detective work" of his subordinates and he would not change his opinion yesterday? Hmmm, seems an initial investigation has been concluded. Good thing Newt is so concerned about what Robert De Niro says, but can't seem to address real issues.
BTW, I am sure that they are not happy he is dead, but the reality is they do not want to offend their base. Even Stevie Wonder can see that is behind their behavior and your joke demonstrates you are part of that base.
Hey oct21

Hey oct21
They may have better ratings than this show, but that just show "US" how bad the education systems in America are. Too many "ditto heads" and NOT enough FREE thinkers!!!
A couple of things are being left out of the recitation of facts. One of which is that Zimmerman was told by the police not to follow Martin. He did it in direct contradiction to police instructions. Zimmerman was armed. This is evidence of premeditation. The fact the police refused to investigate, knowing these facts, us evidence of racism on the part of the police.
joemaio says: A real problem with the income disparity in the United States, which jeopardizes our future, is not that the rich are too rich – who cares – but that the rest of us are becoming too poor to educate our children.
You should care. Our nation's productivity has increased to stratospheric levels since World War II, and for three decades or so all income levels shared more or less equally in its fruits. Then the Reagan administration came along, and the real income of wage earners has flatlined ever since, while those at the high end of the ladder have hogged all the benefits for themselves. This didn't happen by accident, it was a series of political decisions on "free trade" (actually, freedom for capital) and taxation. So, joemaio, you are too poor precisely because the rich are too rich.
Once again, Diane shows how she is really a Republican shrill by announcing Obama changed his mind on the Keystone Pipeline. How sad.
Far more discussions in the MSM about the reasons why gas prices have been rising. Many host of MSM news programs as well as their guest talking about oil speculators literally speculating on the repercussions of Israel striking Iran, the sanctions against Iran and how that drives oil prices up due to this speculation. As well as Japan using more oil due to their nuclear plants being shut down, oil exports in Libya being smaller and South Sudan oil being shut down.
Noticed that MSNBC's Martin Basher mentioned most of the above except that speculators are banking on a war with Iran. Chris Hayes Up program has focused on these speculations a great deal. Chris Matthews even whispered about a possible attack on Iran driving prices up.
Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown is pushing for more restrictions on this type of speculation. Hope you have Senator Brown on your program to focus on his efforts

Please ask your republican leaning guests to STOP using the term "OBAMACARE" when referring to the Affordable Care Act of 2010.
These folks know darn well that using the term "Obamacare" is much more incendiary than the proper term!!!!
Ask them to use the correct term please
I hang out with folks over 80 a great deal in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. They do not care about choices. Hell have you gone through any of the health care plans. You have to be an attorney to wrap your head around many of the policy choices They just want covered for heavens sake. This choice mantra is way over rated.
Also can any of the guest tell us how the Ryan plan actually raises revenue?
Her own paper says this is a dangerous budget and this "expert" states this is a sock em to the rich. She lives in a parallel universe.

Hey dondraperisback
Well said my friend, and I would add to @OCT21 the FACT that just because an investigation of this murder is in it's early stages DOES NOT mean one or all of the republican candidates, for the highest office in the world, could express sympathy to the Martin family for their loss. Especially since it's FRONT PAGE NEWS EVERYWHERE!!!
Well, when they get "real" conservatives on, the conservatives always end up either slinking away with their tails between their legs, or sounding like they are in complete denial.
They can't help it.
Tell Ann Coulter Jr to take a breath. My goodness. It is an exchange of ideas. If you want a platform, Peeping rupert can give her that forum.

Except nobody at FOX News cable did that. That would be CNN's Pierce Morgan, who worked for a Rupert Murdock Fleet Street paper. As far as I know, Pierce is still on the air over at CNN.
Hey Kathleen
Thank you for yore great post. The Senator from the GREAT state of Ohio seems to be the ONLY Senator worth his salt in the Senate!!!
