On December 25th, 1991 Mikhail Gorbachev resigned as president of the Soviet Union. With the stoke of a pen the totalitarian regime founded by Lenin and enforced by Stalin came to an end. In a new book, award winning journalist and writer Conor O’Clery offers a minute by minute account of this dramatic day. Upon more than three years of constant demand, The Management of WBUR decided to tackle the issue and created an OnPoint program for this topic …. WHILE TOM ASHBROOK WAS ON VACATION last week. Tom Ashbrook was back on Monday. He did two regular live shows; and then now three days of repeat Rebroadcasts (Hmmmm, internal fighting????)

Introduction to the show: 10 Years after 9/11 Why Don’t the members of 9/11 Truth Movement go away. (The Senior Producers biased junk)
The Show was supposed to be 9/11 Truth Movement. It opened up with two guests against the Movement. These two clowns have said whatever lie they desired, never challenged and the one hour show ended with their calculated and rehearsed garbage as closing statements.
Kevin Ryan, yet … a former government employee who was fired for objecting to the lies during the 9/11 Investigation, member of the 9/11 Truth Movement was a call-in guest for 5 min 10 seconds. His net airtime was 3 min 38 seconds. During his connect time, “time constraints” was mentioned three time.
As a result…. Normally the show gets average 80-120 comments on the web for an average subject. For this garbage show … there are now over 3000 comments, mostly protest/frustration with NPR kind of comments, and lately about derailment and arguing, etc.
The Bottom Line: NPR owes us, The Public, a full show with Richard Gage. Or, else … we will contact you again and again and again and again and again.

What a bizarre interpretation of the facts your author has. The United States doomed its empire through the push to end the Soviet Empire. Both countries lost the cold war. China won it. We are living in the era of Chinese ascendancy and US imperial collapse, and your author argued that the US economy was large and robust enough to survive the money race which it imposed. Tunnel vision, at best.
As is almost always the case the DR show helping us become more informed citizens. Great show
But can you folks have some serious guest on your program to challenge Cheney's endless lies.
Cheney was on MSNBC's Morning Joe. Providing yet another opportunity for Cheney to repeat his WMD lies and never of course under oath. Mostly softball questions. Although MiKe Barnacle asked about troops not having necessary equipment. Mika asked about Powell being hung out to dry at the UN. Joe actually asked about WMD's
So here are a few follow up questions for Cheney and the Morning Joe team.
Cheney said the WMD intelligence came from the Clinton administration. Which is bull. Why was it Joe, Mika etc did not mention that the false WMD intelligence came out of the Pentagons Office of Special Plans, the office of Net Assessment and the White House Iraq Group. Lt Col Karen Kwiatowski, the Nations Jason Vest, New Yorkers Seymour Hersh have all written extensively about where the false WMD intelligence came from.
Also not one of the Morning Joe team asked Cheney an extremely obvious question. If he was so concerned about WMD's in Iraq. Why did he help take out Valerie Plame the very person tracking the path of WMD's. Why did he avoid testifying under oath about the outing of Plame?

1. Why did Cheney out Plame when she was the very person following the path of WMD’s in that part of the world?
2. How did he get away with not testifying under oath
3, Why did he try to undermine Comey and Ashcroft’s decisions?
4. Why did he undermine international agreements by pushing and implementing torture?
5. Why did he wiretap Powell? Release those NSA intercepts that congress had been demanding.
6. Why after the head of the IAEA El Baradei stated in early March of 2003 that the Niger Documents were forgeries did the MSM continue to allow the Bush administration to repeat these lies
7. Tenet has said that they contacted the Bush administration and said that those 16 words were wrong and they did not support the use of them. Why did Stephen Hadley/Cheney put those 16 words back in that speech?
The guest that the Morning Joe team should have on to respond to Cheney’s continued lies?
1. Duelfer (Cheney made false claims about the Duelfer Report on Morning Joe’s)
2 Plame and Joe Wilson ( Cheney made so many claims about WMD’s that they were hard to count
3. The counterterrosim expert Richard Clarke who the Bush administration would not directly communicate with during the Bush/Clinton administrations.
Challenge the lies. The very least the MSM can do for those who have needleslly lost their lives, been injured, displaced based on this 5 time deferred coward's lies. Challenge him all ready.
Let's Investigate the Collapse of the Third Tower on evening of 9/11 (5:20) and we are going to have all of the tough questions there were supposed to be asked to Cheney be answered.
9/11 Truth is the Key to the problems of this Country.
As a scientist, I did not see this for 6.5 years, and finally it clicked with me. The Official Story of 9/11 is bunch of lies and the Media is terrified to cover the scientific but easy to understand facts.
Diane Rehm Show should bring Architect Richard Gage.
We should have a new investigation. That's all
