Just imagine how much great stuff is rejected as not easy to sell or requiring minor work in a college town. I watched truckloads trashed after Salvation Army cherry picked only a couple of items as thousands of students moved or went home for the summer. The process was repeated in the fall only this time tons, of Styrofoam, plastic bags, paper and cardboard from imported "disposable" student purchases were collected by the city recycling program

After seeing O.J. Mayo sport a player exclusive colorway and that along with Caron Butler’s PE released at House of Hoops, we haven’t seen anything from the Nike Flight Lite 2010.  Conspicuous by its absence in our ongoing NBA Feet feature,New Balance Shoes, the FL2K10 is back in a colorway that Caron may have worn during his time with the LA Lakers, were the laws of time suddenly to unravel.  As it stands, these would make a good LA-away colorup or maybe something to tide you over ’till the equally high Swizz Beats x Reebok ‘Black & Yellows’ drop.  But you don’t have to wait for these; whether you want ‘em for performance and/or aesthetic purposes, the Flight Lite 2010 is available in black and Del Sol from ID4Shoes on eBay.

2008′s economic swoon brought with it a return to subtler sensibilities in the fashion world.  Sneaker design was not unaffected, and we’ve seen kicks get back to basics, including a 2010 when all black (and grey, and white) everythings ruled the lifestyle market.  What seems to be the first sign of life after a period of somewhat docile design is a trend toward animal prints, that, if looked at carefully,Jordan 6 Rings, can be seen to have been foreshadowed nearly a year earlier.  Japan was (as always) ahead of the curve and we already saw something from Vans Japan that’s slightly similar to this new Zebra Pack from Vans Classic.  Interestingly enough, these Sk8-His and Authentics go for a tonal black-on-black look themselves, perhaps as something of a bridge to wilder looks we’ll see in the coming months.  Stick to Sneaker News for the first look at all these emerging trends, and click through to get a better look at the Vans Zebra Pack that’ll hit retailers in Q1.  via Provider

Gilbert Arenas has dazzled has with his Air Jordan Retro selections this season, but he’s also worn some Nike Basketball gems to further solidify that he’s a student of the game – the sneaker game, that is. For the second time this season, Gilbert Arenas wore the Nike Air 3 LE (previously known as the Air Garnett 3) in the black/blue/white colorway. The Air 3 LE is one of those shoes that have a small cult following and isn’t quite a widely popular shoe like a Jordan Retro or a Nike Penny shoe. We’re still waiting patiently for Gilbert to rock the Royal Foamposite One,Nike Basketball Shoes, but we’re certain ‘ol Gil has a lot of sneaker heat he’s dying to pull out. Check out Arenas and the Air 3 in action after the jump! via ESPN.
