Hello,
The biggest problem for our President is that many people out there aren't educated enough about issues and they are traditional blind followers which makes them an easy target for Republican/Tea-Party sharks to brain washed them and manipulate them for personal interests. What shocks me is that an average person who is sick does not see how health-care will really work to his benefit. Yet, he falls for Republican manipulation and helps the rich get richer because he is scared of big words like Socialism, etc. which the foxes on the opposite side know how to use to their own advantage. We are constantly told about bad health care in other Western countries, which is the biggest lie, but when you have people who haven't even heard of these countries let alone been there, how can you convince them in anything different than what evil and manipulative mouths are telling them. And that is fear tactic that uneducated people fall for. People need to educate themselves, read and not listen to evil and destructive language of Limboughs. Becks, Sarahs, and only then will we get out of this hatred filled situation. Unfortunately, we do not see any "healthy" Republicans like Mr. Powell getting in front rows and leading because this is a great time for a lot of junk to start floating in political rivers mostly seeking personal gains. And yet ordinary citizens do not see farther than their noses. That is what scares me the most - ignorance and stupidity in action! Thank you,

You described the terrorists' strategic victory in terms of interrupted trade. Their real strategic victory is that you are spending an hour talking about them and their issues. Terrorist damage, even 9/11, pales compared to the damage from auto accidents, accidental hospital infections, and inner city homicides. If we ignored terrorists the way we ignore those things, the terrorists would lose. They would also lose a major motivation for continuing terror---getting in the news. I lost a friend on 9/11, but I've lost plenty of others to accidents and disease. We should be directing our attention at those more substantial risks.

Not to be unkind, but the female panelist's manner of speaking (halting, staccato) is very distracting and difficult to listen to.

The pundits on this show are very adept at manipulating the host. Phrases like "Marxist guerilla," while a great, demonizing tag-line, get thrown around without the host questioning what that means, or asking for context. Brazil was a military dictatorship. Rousseff was jailed and tortured for her efforts to turn Brazil into the democracy it is today. She is a protege of Lula, who also has a colorful past with Marxist overtones, and yet, as your guests noted, Brazil is a hard rocking capitalist market (with lots of social problems). I also liked the comment about the US protecting sea lanes for Brazil, India, and China that went by unquestioned. Clearly the US military acts on the interests of the US. The military "umbrella" is very selective and the concept is from a cold war mindset.

Frank Sesno first described the just elected Brazillian President as a "former Marxist guerrilla" in the lead-in to hour two of the Round-up. What kind of tone does this set? When George Washington gets on drshow Frank can introduce him as "a murderous traitor to the British Empire and King George III"
; and Frank is old enough to remember back that far. This guy is a media dean? I pity the students.

The Greatest threat to the US is that this fight against terrorsist bankrupts the country.
Bad policy and wars have lead to the demise of many a country. The first thing that can be dealt with is policy such as the tax breaks that W installed to give the rich more money. Below is a common sense starting point when it comes to good tax policy

What Killed the Most Robust Economy on the Worlds History?

Is Everyone Missing the 800 lbs Tax Guerilla in the Room?

It Was The Bush Tax Cuts Stupid

Sometimes problems can seem so complex yet the answer is staring us right in the face. Such is the case of the Great Recession and now this slow moving recovery.

When GW took over the reigns as Commander in Chief, the economy that he inherited was said to be so strong and self regulating that recessions were supposed to be a thing of the past. Yet due to his genius he managed to screw it up.

Why did this so hurt the US economy?

1) At a time of war when revenues needed to increase to keep from borrowing more and more money, W, in his genius gave the US a HUGE tax cut. Kind of like telling your employer that you want a HUGE pay cut right after you buy the most expensive home you can.

2)The tax cuts accomplished more than plummeting the US into huge unsustainable debt.

3)The W tax cuts also completely stalled the huge US economy. Wait a minute, how could cutting taxes stall this huge economy? The W tax cuts created a disincentive for the small business man from hiring and investing in his own company. In the 90s when tax rates were higher, small businesses would look for ways to hire new employees or buy that next piece of equipment they were putting off buying when their taxable income got close to the next incrementally higher tax rate. Incrementally higher tax rates actually motivates every business of every size to hire employees and purchase equipment they would normally put off just to keep themselves under the next incrementally higher tax rate.
