Mr. Vice President,
Thank you for your service.
One of my biggest concerns is the media in this country, and particularly the main street media. I find their reporting on the great political issues facing this country pathetic. You have said the American people need to tell the politicians in Washington to get serious. I doubt this can happen if the media are not more responsible in their reporting.
The recent debate over health care is an excellent case. The lying and distortions that filled the airways was incredible. I believe a responsible main street media should have put the spotlight on these distortions. For the most part it did not. Vested interests put adds on TV and the radio that serve their interests and not a serious examination of the issue.
Please comment.
Considering the economy, the loss of jobs, the housing market, the big bank bailouts (which were started by Bush) and the promises that Obama made during his campaign, do you think that the extreme dislike by most Americans is racial? And do you think that the Tea Party was formed because of this?
Diane i can barely listen to your liberal show this morning with the highly delusional walter mondale. Mr. Mondale, and people like him, will take america into bankruptcy while his blue blood elitism shows itself like a peacock. he makes me sick and my radio is off...... what a fool. stop the spending, you idiot. obama is not qualified to be our leader - ! how you can defend him is beyond me, but you have drunk the liberal kool aid.
you make me ill.

Diane, I know you are a big girl and can take it, but I wanted to send this to try to balance the comment from Anne Womble. I'm so sad to see this example of polarization in our society. Needless to say, I'm on the other end and feel just as passionately as she does. I am so downhearted that our Democratic Party Leaders just keep letting the GOP define the narrative and drive our country into the ground, just so they can regain power. In response, it seems the Democratics either try to use some adaptation of the GOP tactics or just don't address their propaganda at all, which is demonstratably based on lies. I don't know what it will take, but I fear we are headed for another period of violence in the streets when the middle class finally wakes up and sees that it is now poor because of GOP policies.
We had such high hopes for Obama, but the sad fact is, he just lacked the experience dealling with the GOP pols. He actually went in with good faith and expected the same from the GOP. That was never going to happen. The loss of Ted Kennedy and Tom Daschle hamstrung him in the Senate and Hillary is not best used as Sec of State. Well, we're disheartended to say the least. But thanks for bringing Mondale on, I fear he's just too little too late.
Are Democrats too NICE in this current political atmosphere?
Ginny, I don't know...I'd hate to see the Democrats get hateful and distortionist, as I'm sad to say happens sometimes in campaigns. But I certainly see them appearing naive. I wish they would take FDR's fireside chat idea and update it to actually explain to the public what is really going on with the issues. Granted, credibility would be difficult to re-establish, especially with so much noise, but we have to try something.
Walter (Mr. Vice President)- I hope the American people notice that THEY still can't "find the beef." In fact, some have found the baloney, and are claiming it's the "beef." And the price of baloney is much higher than "beef."
