Obama brought it upon himself by making promises that were impossible to bring forth. If Hillary had been elected, do you think she would have done a better job of bringing the country together.

I was up in the wee hours of the morning trying to find a room for Oct. 30th in Washington, DC. and couldn't find one available unless I went 15 miles away. I think there are a lot of people out there who think the minority voices of the extreme right do not speak for the majority. I will be there to support "restoring sanity" with Jon Stewart and I am happy to see I won't be alone! Tough problems require patience and thoughtful compromises. I think President Obama has done a remarkable job given the road blocks the republican party has put forth.
The Democrats need to do the following:
1. Emphasize that the Republicans voted to give tax break to companies who sent jobs off-source.
2. Emphasize that Republicans supported banking deregulation which created the current financial collapse.
3. Emphasize that KARL ROVE, Bush's mastermind political advisor and operative, is behind the attacks ads being used against Democrats and REMIND them of Karl Rove's projects.
4.. Emphasize that the Health Insurance Companies, Gas & Oil Companies, and Financial Industries have made huge profits from the average American and new regulations will benefit the consumer limiting their huge profits funneled to their top executive salaries and compensations not to job creation.
5. Ask the American voter a question 'Why will the Republicans policies that broke our economy now fix it?'.
Im starting to wish that the media would be replaced by computer generated data just stating the facts mam...sometimes all the speculating, jabbering, yaking about negative stuff gets to be out of hand. Im sitting at a star bucks filled with people in and out for their coffees...the economy in here is doing pretty well, the sun is shining and all over the world positive things are happening...can you EVER EVER report on some happy stuff please.
Corporate productivity.....My husband worked 60 to 70 hours a week, on a fixed salary, when his company that outsourced and/or eliminated jobs. When his employer's top investment banking division made bad investments, they eliminated his job. He has spoken to the few people left in his former department and they are working for less money and longer hours. They have fired more staff and replaced them with consultants making less money and working longer hours. Yet, the top executives continue to receive outrageous high salaries and compensation packages.
Maybe, the unemployed should start a non-violent protest of corporations that are borrowing money at low interest rates which they are using to boost their profit while not hiring new staff. I propose that these unemployed quietly picket the corporate headquarters and the neighborhoods of these companies top executives. Maybe, with some media governing these quiet, peaceful and large picketing of American corporations, there could be a focus away from government to corporate failings. If Corporate America started to act responsibility for their actions which were a primary cause of our financial problems, unemployment rates would go down. And, maybe they would stop attacking reforms of their industries and cleaning up the environment by moving away for oil/gas to alternative energies and start hiring again.
*** (of course Karl Rove would make sure that Fox News either doesn't cover these protests or turns the unemployed people into Socialists and Communists)
I find it offensive to read the title of the book:
Tears of a Clown: Glenn Beck and the Tea Bagging of America
translated:
Tears of a Clown: Glenn Beck and the Scrotum Dragging on America

You express yourself very well. The only thing I would ask is if you really believe the country can be governed by redressing grievances directly to corporate executives rather than demanding citizen representation in the Federal government first. And if this were an actual interview I might ask if you really trust the Democratic Party, or if you only think it is a lesser evil than the Republican Party. And thirdly, what kind of government and culture you would prefer if you could wake up tomorrow morning and have it made real.
Also, isn't it a shame Diane has drawn only about 13 comments for both hours combined. What is going on? How can we pep up her show to get listeners involved in their own interests. I can tell she and her staff continue to try their best.
Unfortunately most people do not have a reasonable enough sense of economics or history to understand that Obama and the Democrats had nothing to do with this recession. It took 8 years of the abysmal Bush-Cheney White House to wreck this train.
And no president under any party (Democrat, Republican, Whig...) can undo this damage in a mere two years. It will probably take ten years.
Don't forget it took Franklin Roosevelt's administration two or three terms to help repair things after the stock market crash.
Meanwhile you have Sarah Pailin and Fox News screaming that the Democrats are at fault, while W's henchman Karl Rove rakes in Corporate and Foreign money to buy back the White House for another shadow government.
ps. And it should be obvious by now who is in control of the Republican Party, the party that wants so much to give tax breaks to the very rich. Wake up America!
