I've been listening to Diane since Obama started running for the nomination, and it's nice to finally put a face with the name.
My question is, how can it be that the language of the bill is spelled out clearly about abortion federal funding, or the lack there-of, but you get different interpretations depending on what side of the isle you're on. Has any one on the panel this morning actually read the language, and what is their interpretation? Is this simply a case of people adding their own "interpretation" to influence their supporters?
Thank you!
The week before the healthcare reform bill was passed I attended a rally to support my Representative Harry Mitchell's YES vote. There were protesters there who responded to a nationwide tea party call to "HONK-NO." About a dozen cars drove around and around the
block leaning on their horns and flipping the bird.
During last summer the same tactics were encouraged when the protesters were urged to attend townhall meetings and "YELL-OUT".
They call this exercising free speech? I say go ahead and express yourself, but as a former preschool teacher, I say "use your words!"
Please address this question about settlements when you discuss building in East Jerusalem. When the United Nations partitioned the Palestine into Israel and Arab regions in 1948, Israel was attacked by five Arab countries. At the end of hostilities, Jordan held East Jerusalem where more than 60 Synagougues were destroyed and all Jewish residents were forced to leave. Why is building in East Jerusalem - land where there were Jewish residents before 1948 - now considered "settlements?"

I'm really appalled by the response the WORLD has had to the Catholic sexual abuses. If this were a teacher or a boyscout leader etc. there would be a legal response and the individual would NOT be allowed within so many feet of children or a children's facility. How can this continue to be tolerated?? I'm seriously confused, especially with how Catholics themselves can continue to expose their children to the potential of sex abuse. If the Pope and Bishops continue to shuffle these offending priests from place to place how can you ever be sure that your children are not exposed to one of these offenders???
Hi, Diane --
I hear many people say that the requirement to buy health insurance is un-American, unconstitutional, or communist; what do those people say about the requirement to buy auto insurance? How is this different?
