In 1999, NPR's Weekend All Things Considered invited listeners to submit short, true stories for a new feature called the National Story Project. Acclaimed novelist Paul Auster selected, edited, and read on-air some of his favorites. Auster and NPR special correspondent Jacki Lyden join Diane to talk about the project and the new anthology I Thought My Father Was God and Other Tales from NPR's National Story Project (Henry Holt).
